1933
The schoolmaster

1948
A career average of 112
Andy Ganteaume made a hundred in his only Test innings. It gave him the highest batting average in the history of Test cricket, and he never batted again.
-
1973
A hundred and a fifty, and then nothing
Rodney Redmond made 107 and 56 in his only Test. New Zealand never selected him again and no selector has ever said why.
-
1984
Seventeen balls
Andy Lloyd opened for England at Edgbaston, was hit on the helmet by Malcolm Marshall, and never played a Test again. He was also never dismissed.
-
1999
Two debuts at the Wanderers
Gavin Hamilton and Michael Vaughan walked out for England on the same morning in 1999. One of them never played a Test again.

1902
Fred Tate’s four
England needed eight with one wicket left at Old Trafford in 1902. The last man hit his first ball for four and was bowled by his fourth. It was his only Test, it began on his birthday, and the card gives him two wickets and two catches as well.
