About
Third man is the position you get put at when nobody trusts you anywhere else. It is also, unarguably, where you see the most.
What this is
A cricket blog with three strands: history that has gone quiet, arguments about the game as it is now, and the occasional dig through the numbers. No fixture reports, no transfer-style churn. Things worth reading twice.
Who writes it
One person, a piece a day, no advertising. There is a tip jar; nothing here is sponsored, and no piece has ever been written because of it.
How it is written
Research and drafting are done with AI assistance. Every scorecard linked from a piece has been opened and read first. Cricinfo blocks automated requests, so there is no way to check one except by hand, and an unverified link would be a fabricated one. Where no record exists, the piece says so rather than filling the gap.
Corrections are welcome and will be made in public.
